Vid: Autobanh Supra Breaks 200MPH+!

Got this from the guys over at supraforums. The old record was around 190, this was done in 5th gear, granny shifting through 4th. He let off after 3/4 mile mark I think because the slow down area was kinda shitty. Enjoy! His speed was like 8500 rpm in 5th, didn't even touch 6th yet. http://youtube.com/watch?v=zzNAYnQblRA

My personal max is 175 mph (in the Rx-7) and 165 mph in the Z06

Holy huge turbo.

Piano. How did you get that speed? I know the spedometers are way off even after as low as 100 mph. Although i have no problem believing your car could do that.

This was done from a stop to 1 miles then there is a slow down aera. As you can see the slow down area is not too long and the road is in kinda bad shape. The driver also said that after his first pass the brakes felt a little soft so he took it somewhat easy on the last past. That is why he decided not to go full throttle for the full mile. John Hennessay holds the standing one mile record for a street car at 218. I think this supra can come close to that record. John's record was not done at the Texas Mile race. On a side note this car was spinning those slicks in 4th gear durring the vid.

175 was in the FD on a Sunday morning on G**** No traffic and 400 rwhp (16 psi). The windshield wipers were shaking like crazy after like 165 so I didn't want to push it any further. Other than that, it was still pulling hard in 5th!

165 was in the Z when it was mostly stock (intake, shifter, ported TB). I came upon an R1 at like 60 and we ran until 165. Once again, it had more in it. I DO NOT recommend going that fast on CCIS though. In retrospect, it wasn't a good idea.

And then I woke up...

That's a sweet ride

Z06s top out in the high 170s in 5th gear... 6th is too high and it won't pull.

I've been up over 160 one time and that's fast enough.

Thats my friend Tommy's car. This was done at the Texas Mile this past weekend. As you can see in the vid Tommy was not very agressive and he did not even boost the car until the half mile mark where he just rolled into 4th gear and then took it easy in 5th. Keep in mind this was Tommy's first time doing this type of event and he just wanted to get comfortable in the car. It just so happens that while taking it extremely easy and running this on base boost he clocked an official 201.XXmph. Also the setup on the car is a 3.0 with a GT47-80 so its nothing crazy.

That Z06 was not stock or the speedo was way off.
